CD Wow update

I've had a communication from CD Wow, as follows :

As many may have read in recent press releases CD WOW! has encountered a few problems recently with the BPI (British Phonographic Industry).

Due to this CD WOW! would like to take the opportunity to let you know that CD WOW! is running business as usual:

1. CD Wow! is still fully operational.
2. The assets of the business have been purchased by Stomp HK Ltd, a division of Stomp PTY Ltd of Australia - an established entertainment company.
3. It is common knowledge that the forced sale of the business was as a result of prolonged legal action by opponents of the business not poor trading.
4. The CD WOW! business is a sound one and capable of much further development.
5. Their affiliate activity is not affected in anyway, shape or form, by information in these reports, or any others since.
6. They still offer consumers some of the most competitive prices on CD’s, DVD’s and Games in the market.

Not quite business as usual at CDWOW. Their catalogue of Region 2 titles is extremely limited now. I presume all of the legal problems they've encountered have prevented them from selling a lot of the multi-region stock that they've had previously.

Example: Do a search for Sopranos on CDWOW and see how many of the results are Region 2 compatible discs.

The problem for the original CD Wow (I presume) was that they had a UK operation and/or their directors were Europeans. This made them "gettable" as far as the law was concerned.

Stomp are doing exactly the same thing, but are completely outside of the EU and hence EU law.
